B5 Acne

B5 Acne Theory

One of the well-known and most controversial trends in the health industry today is the B5 acne treatment. The vitamin B5, as deemed by the B5 acne theory, is a revolutionary way to battle acne that is just starting to come into mainstream use. The concept of its benefits have been relatively unknown for centuries until the year 1997 when a doctor named Lit-Hung Leung published his researches regarding the vitamin B5's effects in preventing and treating acne.

In the paper, Doctor Leung proposes a hypothesis that acne to some degree is caused by a deficiency in vitamin B5, which is pantothenic acid. According to the B5 acne theory, the high fat diets greatly intensify acne since the body is not metabolizing fats properly and the coenzyme-A is necessary for the metabolization of fat. Speaking of the coenzyme-A, the B5 acne theory notes that coenzyme-A is formed from the adenosine triphosphate, cysteine, and pantothenic acid, which is often the deficient one. As such, the B5 acne theory holds that if you don't get enough pantothenic acid, your body can't then form enough coenzyme-A, which is deemed necessary in the production of hormones, one of the possible causes of acne formation. The B5 acne theory of Leung further maintains that the fats begin to form in the skin's oil gland causing an increase in sebum, which then leads to the formation of acne.

With the introduction the B5 acne theory, certain questions arise. One of those deals if the B5 acne treatment really works. Certain studies have found out in the end that B5 acne treatment does not really work for treating acne, although you have followed the suggested dosage which is between 10 to 20 grams of pantothenic acid per day divided up in a minimum of four doses every day.

The B5 acne theory was even tested with several women and men, including athletes, but in the end the tests have found out that the B5 acne treatment can cause nausea, chronic low energy, as well as fatigue to those who take it. There are even some instances that the B5 acne can cause cracks in the corners of the mouth that would not heal. Some findings even reported that the use of B5 acne treatment triggers headaches and results to poor wound healing.

However, outside from such claims and findings, B5 acne treatment still emerge as one of the good options for treating acne. The proponents and some consumers have claimed that this treatment is 100 percent safe with minimal side effects and it is completely natural. And, unlike every product, B5 acne treatment in the end is deemed great for preventing dryness in the skin.
