Penis Acne

Although acne commonly appears on the face, neck, back, chest, shoulder and buttocks, the other parts of the body like the penis may also be affected. Penis acne is so common among boys and men. Many have penis acne that generally varies from mild to severe acne.

Penis acne is actually characterized by pimple-like growths on the areas of the penis. Some guys have experienced bumps, technically known as penile papules, on their penises, which according to some studies are just normal growths that appear around the base of hair follicles. In some cases, these penis acnes may look like "pearly", that is, whitish in color. Aside from that, there is also another form of penis acne that is caused by an infection of the sebaceous glands, and they also appear like pimples.

The treatment of penis acne is just the same as to those treatments used for acnes found on the face, chest, and back. However, it is very necessary to consult with your doctor as early as possible, so they can be check out and the exact diagnosis will be given. You should avoid picking, pinching, or squeezing the penis acne since not only will it hurt, but such act may allow infection to get it, which may in turn result to penis acne scarring.

In some instances, the penis acne may appear very much like cysts. This is because penis has sebaceous glands that secrete liquid as with the other parts of the body. If these sebaceous glands become blocked or trapped, for any reason, a penis acne cyst will then occur as the gland persists to emit liquid that can't escape. With this fact, it is no wonder then that most men get them some time in their life. A number of guys get one or two, while others get more that can completely encircle the space located beneath the head of the penis. For some time, penis acne may also come and go, but there are also some cases that penis acnes remain for a lifetime, causing no further problems other than worry. So if this is what they are, there is nothing then to worry about.

Most of the men who suffer from penis acne commonly use some forms of acne treatments, but they don't actually apply the treatment long enough to clear up their penis acne. Others just treat it by means of cleaning, which may help to eliminate the penis acne you may have. But, for a better diagnosis, it is then very necessary that you consult with your doctor for you to have the right necessary treatment and so to put your mind at ease.
